Songs of Praise Filmed at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral

Posted by Stephen

It may not be everyones cup of tea, but there are enough people still interested in the Songs of Praise style to fill Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral.

The BBC TV show, which is hosted by former choir boy Aled Jones and is televised on a Sunday evening, was recorded in the Cathedral earlier this week. Filming lasted for over three hours and the results will be split into two editions of the programme to be shown later this year.

Songs of Praise is watched by over four million viewers each week and is the longest running religious TV show in the world.

Posted by Stephen

KIDDIE favourites the Wonder Pets will be flying to Liverpool this Sunday to help save an insect band inevitably titled the Beetles.

Their rescue flight will be seen on the preschool television channel Nick Jr in a special episode to mark Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture.

Wonder Pets! (they always come with an exclamation mark) appear in an animated series for the under-fives on the channel.

It generally features three cute classroom pets who lead secret lives as superheroes.

This special episode going out on Easter Sunday at 2.30pm features a six-legged Fab Four tribute band the Beetles who call on the Wonder Pets for help.
