Great Music in Times of Celebration

TWO gaps were bridged with the inaugural Manx performance of a musical piece commissioned by the Isle of Man Arts Council – that between Liverpool and the Island and the generation gap.

Dance in Time of Celebration was composed by Barry Russell as a gift from the Isle of Man to Liverpool during its year as the European capital of culture.

It was performed at the Villa Marina, Douglas, on Sunday by the Manx Youth Orchestra, the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and … members of the Women’s Institute from the Island.
